Workstation Maintenance Assistant - Volunteer


Description:

The person in this position will help perform routine maintenance on the Douglas County Law Library’s workstations.


Responsibilities:

Searching for virus protection and other software updates on-line, downloading and installing said software on the public workstations, and cleaning the computer related equipment in the Law Library.


Duties:

At least once a week, check for on-line updates of virus protection and other pertinent software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office suite.

Carefully and thoroughly download and install on the Law Library’s public workstations those updates that are approved by the Law Librarian.

At least once a week, dust and clean the Law Library’s public workstations.


Requirements:

Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Experience with Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Experience with downloading and installing software on-line.

Experience with virus protection software.

Ability to pass a background check.


Preferred:

Experience with Microsoft Windows XP Professional.

Experience with Netscape.

Experience maintaining computer equipment.
